The boy returns with tears streaming down his face. G: "What's the matter? Did your wish not pan out as you intended?" C: In a quivering voice, "I love him so much, I always have, but he doesn't love me back" G: With a tilt of the head and an apathetic stare, he says nothing. C: "I thought that we would love each other, that I could finally show him how much I really care... but he doesn't, and I'm pretty sure he likes some girl." G: "You know, you do have the ability to decide to reverse your wish. You would no longer love, but would be loved by many." C: "Yes. Please end this agony. I can't imagine anything worse than his rejection."

G: "For your last and final wish, you may choose a condition for you and all of humanity to endure." C drops his head down towards the note in his hand and coyly says C: "I choose love" G: "Then love you shall endure. However, you must make one last decision." C bobs his head up with new uncertainty in his eyes. G: "You may either choose to love, or to be loved."
